MICHAL - MEYERS
book & lyrics
music & arrangements
With a combined height of nearly 13 feet and a weight of  more than 450 pounds, David Meyers and Scott Michal are quite likely the biggest composing team in Ohio.

Since they first met more than a decade ago, they have shared the blame for such works as  "Two Men" (a cantata), "Abraham" (a longer cantata), "The Last Christmas Carol" (a musical), "The Last Oz Story" (another musical), a whole bunch of songs, and scraps of other unfinished projects.

Often referred to as Michal-Meyers in an effort to confuse them with the monster in the "Halloween" movies, the duo has traveled dissimilar paths to the same place.

Michal, a cellist with the Columbus Symphony for 14 years, attended high school with country singer Dwight Yoakam and now resides in rural Vinton County.  He is a published composer whose works have been performed by various symphonies and would-be symphonies around the country.

Meyers, who had given up earlier plans to be a Hollywood screenwriter because he prefers to live in Columbus for the climate, wastes much of his time digging into local history.   He co-founded the world famous Columbus Senior Musicians Hall of Fame so he could claim expertise in something.

These two guys have threatened to continue working together until somebody pays them off.  Obviously, if you want to stop them before they compose again, please purchase the screen rights to their musicals.  They have promised they will then go away.
